“Oikoumene”
: An Ancient hallucination.
“The Achaeans, then, went on board and sailed
their ways over the wide back of father Sea”. Homer.
“Oikoumene”
is the word that ancient Greeks used to name the world. A world that once hold
the Happy Immortal’s weight, when they still wandered upon its plains and
mountains and lived and fought among men.
A world whose shine of ancestral forges and funeral pyres lies beneath the crust of this one. A world beyond a sea that even today stirs with the tide of our blood, a bronze clang, with every heartbeat.
This comic project started towards 2004 based on the classic “The Iliad”. This comic approaches the epic poem that relates the war of Troy willing to be faithful not so much to facts or history but to the joy, amaze and loyalty with which each verse celebrates the greatness and importance of courage, love, pain, life and death of human beings.

“Oikoumene”: Una antigüedad alucinada.
“Los Aqueos, entonces, subieron a las naves y navegaron sobre el ancho dorso del padre Mar” . Homero.
“Oikoumene” palabra
que usaban los griegos en la antigüedad para denominar el mundo. Un mundo que
alguna vez sostuvo el peso de los felices inmortales, cuando aun habitaban los
paramos y montañas y Vivian y luchaban junto a los hombres.
Un mundo cuyo fulgor de fraguas ancestrales y piras
funerarias yace bajo la corteza de este
otro. Un mundo tras un mar que aun hoy se agita con las mareas de nuestra
sangre, con estrepito de bronce, a cada latido del corazón.
Proyecto comenzado hacia 2004 basado en el clásico “La Ilíada”.
Este comic aborda la guerra de Troya que narra el poema épico con la intención de ser fiel no tanto a
los hechos o a la historia sino a la
felicidad, el asombro y la lealtad con que cada verso celebra la grandeza e
importancia del valor, el amor, el dolor, la vida y la muerte de los hombres.
